St Helen’s Show Jumping Squad

St Helen’s Show Jumping Squad

The St Helen’s show jumping squad had their first outing as a team on 29th December at Duckhurst show centre in Maidstone. They competed in the 40m and 50m classes. There were 21 entries in each competition meaning the competition was very fierce. Only 1st to 6th would qualify for the championships in the Summer.

Kiki, Jessie, Isabelle and Sylvia all entered as a team and individually.

In the 40cm class Kiki had a great round on her pony Sunny and took 3rd place. Jessie and her pony Flossie came 6th. Sylvia found a lovely clear round but unfortunately wasn’t placed and Isabelle had an unfortunate fall.

In the 50cm class Kiki had a fantastic round and won. Sylvia rode a lovely round and came 3rd. Unfortunately Jessie’s pony decided to stop at fence 4 and Isabelle’s pony also refused to jump at fence 3.

Well done girls.

The girls and their ponies ventured out for another competition held at Hadlow College.

The weather was cold and the early morning start was a chilly one!

The Team did extremely well.

This means that the girls and their ponies have qualified for the Championships at Hickstead in August.

Well done. This is an amazing achievement.

Pony Club Quiz

The girls took part in a Pony Club Quiz. They won their round and now go on to  2024 Quiz Finals in April, where they will compete against the rest of the country.

Well done girls, such a fantastic achievement.

Easter competition at Duckhurst Equestrian centre

The Team came  first in both classes. They looked super smart with their new saddle pads.

Fellbridge Show Centre

The girls went to Felbridge Show Centre and jumped in the 50cm and 60cm classes. They qualified as a team in the 50cm and in the 60cm. Isabelle came 2nd and Jessie came 10th. Sylvia and Kiki were not placed this time but both rode well.

Hadlow College 6th October 2024

Jessie and Sylvia rode two lights lovely clear rounds in the 50cm but didn't get placed and in the 60xm Sylvia went clear with a good time. Jessie was just 2 seconds faster which got her 4th place and an individual qualification for the Championships next year.

NSEA - Felbridge Regional Finals - January 2025

The girls had a great time at Felbridge regional finals on Saturday. The ponies were all raring to go. Although there were no individual placings this time we secured a team 3rd in the 50cm class which was a big achievement as the classes were huge.

Again, no placings in the 60cm but this was a difficult class with the jumps being as wide as they were high; it all looked very daunting. We were very proud of them all.

As an added bonus they were running a hobby horse challenge, and the girls took part as a team. This was great fun and helped warm them up on a cold morning.
