Home Learning

Reading

  • It is the school's expectation that you read with your child at least three times a week at home. This should be recorded in your child's school reading record and returned daily to school.
  • In Reception, we begin with picture books to help develop your child's communication and language before we introduce phonics. For this reason, reading stories to your child is equally important - so please feel free to record stories you've shared together at home as a 'read' as well.

Home Learning Books

  • Home Learning books will be sent home on a Friday and due back in on the following Wednesday.
  • At the front of these books will be the termly 'Home Learning Grid'. Please choose one activity from this grid per week with your child to complete. Use the Home Learning Book to help record your learning as well as uploading any pictures to Tapestry.
  • At the back of these books will be weekly phonics activities, linked with the learning that has taken place in class that week.
