Tapestry & Home Learning

Tapestry & Home Learning

Over the past few years, St Helen’s CEP School has been using an online learning journal called ‘Tapestry’. This is an interactive learning journal which shows children’s learning through photos, videos and notes, linking their learning to our curriculum. As we enter the new academic year, we are inviting parents and carers to also log into Tapestry.

By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to view all of your child’s observations, photographs and videos from their time in school. This can be accessed via a computer or smart device. This will enable you to follow your child’s progress closely and reflect upon achievements with your child. You can add comments so that staff find out about which activities your child really enjoyed and the learning they get up to at home. Staff will reference your child’s learning to the Early Years Foundation Stage profile so you will know which area of learning your child's learning or activity links to. All of this information is stored on a highly secure server which is monitored closely.

If you are having trouble logging into Tapestry or need support using the website, please don't hesitate to speak to Mrs Jones or one of the team.

Home Learning on Tapestry

Whilst home learning is not compulsory within YR and the EYFS, there are times where we will set some home learning on Tapestry for children to engage with. This might be topic based learning, phonics or maths work and will help to consolidate learning that has taken place in school during the week.

Instructions for the home learning that has been set and how to complete it can be found on Tapestry as a word document and as a PDF. Home learning can be completed on paper or practically, depending on the task set. Work can either be sent into school or you can take a photo and upload this as a new observation on Tapestry.

A Parent's Guide to Using Tapestry

Please read through the following guide carefully as it contains useful information for parents and carers on how to use Tapestry.
