St Helen's Council

St Helen's Council

Our Pupil Parliament is made up of children from Year 3 – Year 6. They were voted into position in a democratic class election that supported the ideals of the voting system in England. The children have various objectives each term, which they have decided upon in order to represent their classmates. They meet regularly to discuss ideas and share information. During these sessions they make decisions about projects and bring feedback from classes. They also try to help the local community, coordinate projects to raise money for charity and discuss ideas to make our school a better and safer place.

During the meetings, children take turns to write minutes in order to remember the decisions that have been made.

The members of St Helen's Pupil Parliament are: good listeners; fair and approachable; able to communicate with peers and adults affectively.

Parliament is now open... Monday 5th January 2026

Our King opens parliament by setting out the government's agenda for the year's sessions, outlining all policies and legislation intended to be met.

Therefore, the members of St Helen's Pupil Parliament, will outline their agenda for the coming terms. They, as parliament members, will promise to: uphold the school values; be excellent role models for others; be hardworking and respectful; care for the community, country and school.

Our Christian Values

We hope that our core Christian values will help children understand that there are some central beliefs that people hold, and learn to fall back on these when making choices and decisions, using these core values as an important guiding tool.

Love – Love each other as I (Jesus) have loved you. (John 13:34)

Perseverance – Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. (2 Chronicles 15:7)

Friendship – Two are better than one....if either falls down, one can help the other up (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Trust – Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)
