YOUNG VOICE 2021 - TUESDAY 15TH JUNE AT 2.00 PM
As you may be aware the Young Voices singing for choirs has been cancelled this year however they are now holding it online as a singalong to try to break the 'World Record'.
As a school we have signed up to take part in this and will do so whilst in school. Below is a link that you can click on and the code to enter to start learning the songs that we will be singing on the day - this is NOT just for our choir this is for all of our children.
Good Morning Year 2,
On Teams at 11am today I will be doing our live lesson on the English work.
For today's learning we have English, Maths, PE and a Times Table Rockstar challenge!
English: Is to use adjectives and expanded noun phrases to describe King Henry VIII - we will discuss this on Teams at 11am.
Maths: To interpret pictograms when they are scaled in 2's, 5's and 10's. Remember you just need to check the key to see what each shape means and then count in either your 2's, 5's or 10's.
PE: Have a go at joining in with Jo Wicks or your own PE routine! You might want to have a go at Kids Zumba or Yoga on YouTube with parents permission.
Times Table Rockstar Challenge.
This afternoon your learning is to play on Times Table Rockstar for at least 30 minutes. As a school we have a mini competition with Wainscott Primary School that Mrs Scanlon has organised for fun.
We obviously want to win!!!
You just play as normal and your scores all add up to the total St Helen's score but also give you your own score. Caleb has been playing and is currently 18th on the leader board!
Only 7 more online learning days until we are back in school, yay!

Tuesday 9th February 2021 Lesson Explanation
Good Morning Year 2.
I hope you're all very excited to have woken up to lots of snow!
The daily video is having problems uploading (probably because of the weather and my internet connection!) so I am typing up today's instructions.
For English and this afternoon's learning please continue with your Paddington project.
Please complete pages 2 and 3 of the document uploaded.
Creating a pictogram and answering questions about the data: still using a scale of 1 picture = 1 item in this case 1 piece of fruit.
I have also uploaded a mini quiz to maths.co.uk for you to have a go at if you wish!
I'd love to see your photos in the snow and can always upload them onto our Year 2 diary page for everyone to see.
Mrs Bennett would also like us to take part in the BBC live lesson at 11am today for Internet Safety. There will be 2 dojo’s for any internet safety work that is emailed in 😃
Hope you have a lovely day and enjoy the snow!
Wednesday 27th January 2021
Good Morning Year 2,
I am having some technical difficulties and the daily video is not uploading! I will keep trying to get it to upload but so you know today's plan I am going to type up some instructions for you
Today we have English, Maths, PE and Art.
English I would like you to have a go at writing a set of instructions to make a jam or marmalade sandwich for Paddington. You can then always use these instructions to make your own sandwich at lunchtime - with your parent's permission.
Remember that an imperative verb needs to go at the beginning of each instruction to make it a command. For example rather than 'You need to spread the butter' it should be 'Spread the butter'. You can challenge yourself to include adverbs to 'Spread the butter with the knife carefully'.
Maths today is looking at grouping equal groups - remember this is challenging work and I only want you to try your best! The best way to understand sharing/division/grouping is by making it practical. Share your pencils into groups and then count how many are in each group. Remember to draw it out - this will help you visually see how the groups are grouped/shared.
PE: Your own choice! Zumba, Joe Wicks, or your own workout/dance - it is up to you!
Art: I have attached a template to make your own llama! This can be done following the template or the instructions using a paper plate. You could even have a go at making one from scrap paper or cardboard.
Hopefully the daily video will follow soon!
Keep working hard, I am proud of you all.
Everyday I have forgot to say in the video that the whole video of the Nativity is now uploaded under the Nativity button on the class page.
Just to let you know
