At our school, our ethos is rooted in Matthew 22:34–40, reminding us of the importance of showing love, kindness, and respect to one another. These values guide us not only within the school environment but also in all interactions between children, staff, and families.

We kindly ask that all members of our community extend this same spirit of kindness to our staff. Recently, we have sadly experienced instances of unreasonable behaviour from a small number of parents. These situations take up significant time and resources, drawing us away from our core purpose: educating the children and running the school safely and effectively.

We fully understand that you are passionate about your children—so are we. However, we ask that communication and concerns are shared respectfully. Our staff come to work to support, care for, and teach your children; they should not be subjected to poor treatment.

Due to this, and in light of recent incidents of unacceptable behaviour, I am providing the link to the Parent and Carer Code of Conduct, written in conjunction with the Governing Body, for your reference. Please be aware that appropriate action will be taken if necessary.

Thank you for working with us to maintain a positive and respectful school community where everyone feels valued.

Wear it Red

Thank you all so much for your incredible support and generosity.
The love you showed through Wear It Red Day, the bake sale, and the bracelet sale has truly meant the world. Thanks to your kindness, we raised an amazing £1,009.32 for the Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation.

A special and heartfelt thank you to Mr Sandmann for his exceptionally generous donation of £200.

We are so grateful for every contribution, big and small — together, you’ve made a real difference.

New Communications protocol

All staff at St Helen’s Church of England Primary School work extremely hard to provide the best for all children. Our priority is to ensure that the children are safeguarded and that they also have the maximum amount of contact from our staff. In addition to this, staff often have meetings after school or are involved in clubs or events and of a morning are teaching the children as soon as they arrive. In light of this, it is important that a protocol for communications is clear.

1. Our priority is safeguarding. If you have a significant safeguarding concern that needs an immediate response, one of our DSLs will be called to attend to the matter as quickly as possible. This is in an exceptional circumstance.

2. If you need to speak with a member of staff:

In the mornings, speak with the member of SLT on the gate who will pass on your message and if needed, arrange a phone call/meeting with the teacher.

After school, you can request a meeting with the class teacher and this will be arranged at their earliest convenience.

Alternatively, you can email the office – office@sthelens.medway.sch.uk

3. If your query requires a written response then an appropriate response time should be anticipated.

4. If your child is in school and you are concerned about them (for example if they are feeling unwell) please assume that all is fine. You will be notified if we have any concerns. Please do not call into the school office for a check to be made during school time.

Mini Youth Games

Well done to the children who attended the Table Tennis Mini Youth Games on Wednesday 4th February. The children showed great sportsmanship, congratulating other teams and shaking their hands after each match. The children played fantastically as a team and came 6th overall. Well done; a fantastic result.

House Point Winners

Well done to Donaldson team for earning the most house points this term. You will have a non-uniform day on Friday 27th February 2026.
