Spellings
Spellings are set on a Monday morning when the children are introduced to the spelling pattern of the week. These spellings are then sent home for the children to practice and will be tested on Friday.
The children have a purple spelling book and should be encouraged to write a sentence for each spelling. The children should also be encouraged to use a dictionary to discover the meanings of their spellings. This will help the children apply their spellings in their writing.
Times tables
Times tables are set on a Monday and are tested on Friday. It is important that the children are prepared for the new Government Times table check. We shall focus on a different time table each week and will also focus on the related division facts.
