In English we have continued to learn more sounds, specifically the digraphs (2 letters per sound). We are now writing more confidently and using the new sounds we have learnt as well as the high frequency words we have been learning. This term our focus was traditional tales so we have been writing using this type of style.
We continue to work in smaller groups for phonics.
The sounds we have now learnt are:
s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qy, sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur

In Maths we have continued to order, count and recognise numbers 1 - 20, as well as counting to 100. We have also been adding and subtracting using objects to help us. We have been weighing different items and using the correct mathematical language to describe the differences. We have been learning how to tell the o'clock time and made our own clocks to take home.
We continue to focus on the correct formation of numbers, the songs can be found by clicking here.
In Knowledge and Understanding of the World we have been learning about castles and how they were built. During Science Week we experimented with different types of Gingerbread Men, predicting what might happen to them when placing them in different liquids. We also made our own Gingerbread Men to take home.
We continue to visit the computer suite every week and are developing our computer skills.
