This term we have started to show our confidence and are developing in all areas of the curriculum.
In English we have continued to learn more sounds, joined in with rhymes and songs and listened and responded to stories. We are now writing our names confidently and the new sounds we have learnt in the cursive handwriting, as well as writing words we can sound out or have a go at sounding them out. We are in smaller groups for phonics.
The sounds we have now learnt are:
s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qy, sh, ch, th, ng
The phonic songs we have learnt can be found by clicking here.
In Maths we have continued to sing number songs, ordering objects by size and counting from 1 - 20. We have continued to focus on a number of the week and so far have learnt all about the numbers 1 - 10. Learning the numbers in this way has really helped us to have a concrete understanding of all of the numbers. The number formation songs can be found by clicking here.
In Knowledge and Understanding of the World we have learnt about the history of toys, how they used to be made and how they are made now. We have experimented with pushes and pulls and continue to develop our computer skills.
